Pins &lt;span&gt;AREF, D7, D6, D5, D4, A2, and A3 are not connected on the chipKIT Pi.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;You mentioned you connected GPIO4 to D4 on Chipkit Pi and read the input.
