I expect the pifm since it uses DMA stuff..

I'm planning to buy a PI 2 in the near future, than I can have a look at this, but I'm working on two other project which I have to finish first.

best,

Gerrit.

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Hey Gerrit,

I really like the idea of your project so i bought the new PI 2B.

I tried to run she pifm_sstv on the new PI 2B but it doesn't work. I than figured out that the new PI has different hardware adresses than the old one so the code needs several changes to get it running. I hope that someone will make a fix for that soon.

Best regards

Robert

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Hello ,

I try to do the follow step :

pi@rpicamera ~/sstv $ sudo apt-get install libgd2-xpm-dev

pi@rpicamera ~/sstv $ sudo apt-get install libmagic-dev

pi@rpicamera ~/sstv $ gcc -lm -lgd -lmagic -o pisstv pisstv.c

But there i s a problem with it dowload , i can not install this on the raspberry .

Any idee ?

Thank you .

Best regards.

Alain.

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Gerrit,

It works! tnks for your fast answer!

btw, i'm using the PI b+, not the 2.

73, henk

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Gerrit, I try to compile pisstv.c on my PI-B+ but get errors: undefined reference to symbol 'sin@@GLIBC_2.4'. do i missing a lib?

I started with a new installation of NOOB.

pls help me out...

73,Henk

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Hey Gerrit,

This is a very interesting way of transmitting data. I like the use of several Pi related technologies to achieve your project. A friend of mine is doing something similar to transmit various beacon information.

Have you considered computing the Audio before hand and storing the Audio on the disk so that you do not need to worry about the computing load in real time.

also maybe if this is in say the 433MHZ ISM you could do away with the HAM requirement?

Good project

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Gerrit

Very interesting writeup.

I hadn't considered using other methods of transferring data until I read this.

Thanks

Mark

RE: Raspberry Pi Slow Scan Television (SSTV) Camera

Hi, Thanks so much for a fantastic submission..How much fun you are all for participating with us!!
