I replaced my control board to see if it would help by WIFI dropout problems. It didn't.

However with the new board the Left and Right Hand grip synchro motors behaved differently.

I had to redo the min max values. If for some reason you have problems with any of the sliders working properly you may have to fine tune the slider values. I think they may vary because mine are not the same as the open/close values on the Rapiro forum getting started link. If you are going to use the android program you will need the Android Studio file. Let me know and I will send it to you.

The solution to my WIFI problems seem to be to use a battery powered USB hub for the WIFI adapter.

I have added a form submit button that allows me to enter a value between 0 and 180 and send the command to turn the head to that angle. It works but needs to be cleaned up. I need to figure out the css to make that button to look like the other icons.

I am very frustrated however. Every time I turn the head the wifi and/or ethernet connection drops.

I think I am going to try another wifi adapter. (I have the Edimax which comes highly recommended but no one else seems to be having the problems I'm having.

I have added 3 new icons now when we have video I think it's important to be able to turn the head, and then one to turn off LED. (To turn head straight ahead again just push stop.)

I have updated the file on my dropbox, the .ino file is also included in the root of the zip.

Another thing, if you don't want it to shine read from the camera led in the head of the rapiro edit the /boot/config.txt and add:

disable_camera_led=1

I have now inserted the neede code into your .py file so now I have video stream in the top of the page with options to record video, take a photo, start timelaps or engage motion detection, awesome!!!

I have a Pi CAM Noir if you wonder why the colors are funny, it makes me able to see what the robot is going even though it's darker then optimal.

I have been frustrated with powering Rapiro with an external power supply. I have tried two different 12V 5A power supplies and still suffer the same symptoms i.e. the WIFI and/or internet drop every time I use the camera. If I use batteries all is well. I read a link on the Rapiro forum, Forum, that seems to apply to the problem although the Japanese to English translation is not that good. If anyone knows a solution to the problem or knows a power supply that works it would be much appreciated.

...please add the stuff I've forgot so it can be a good source for everyone to be able to make some really nice things out of their RaPiRo robots.

I have added some additional motions to Rapiro Remote Control.

Also I was asked to publish a link to my web solution.

I have tried several times to get the camera to work with the Rapiro head on and the RPi powered from the control board.

Still or video commands cause the ethernet or wifi connection to disconnect immediately

All is well when powered from the USB plug.

I have tried powered hub, ethernet only and wifi only.

All display the same effect when powered via the GPIO pins.

OK, I have finished my Rapiro Remote Control project. I tidied up the web page, installed the hostapd hot spot on the Pi, and am now able to control the Rapiro from any device that has a browser and can connect via WiFi. That's about all I can do until I learn how to control the robot servos with the Arduino programs. That looks like it will take a while.

I noticed one thing. I haven't been able to get the Arduino IDE to work on Windows or Linux if the Raspberry Pi is connected to Rapiro. I have to remove the Rapiro to Pi cable to get the USB interface to work. I suspect the IDE software would have to be modified to recognize the '/dev/ttyAMA0' port. That is a bit over my head. If anyone has links to help with programming the Rapiro or getting the Arduino IDE to talk to the Rapiro control board it would be great.
