R&S MXO 4 Oscilloscope Video Review

20 Apr 2023

There's a 30-minute video review of the MXO 4 oscilloscope here, admittedly longer than I hoped, but it is 20-minutes if you watch at 1.5 times the speed : )

There are chapters in case (like me) you don't like watching long videos. The video covers the topics in the written review, plus how to pronounce the manufacturer's name : )

The oscilloscope and the pronunciation :) are excellent! A great instrument to have on the bench.

I particularly appreciate the work that Michael and you have put in real world tests. It turned into a very useful road test series.

    Hello Jan,

I've just remembered that you asked what we thought of zooming/scrolling by pinching/swiping on the touch screen.

The answer is that I don't find the actual touchiness of the screen very useful.

Most of my interactions with the scope are by radio mouse but I do use the knobs a lot as well.

If I'm working  on the computer screen and have the web interface on (which I do quite often) I may use the mouse on the computer via the web interface.

For precision moving of the cursors or a high gain zoom area the multi purpose knob is the best thing to use.

I do sometimes poke the channel selection and top line quick access soft buttons by finger.

Partly my preference for non touching is because I have the scope on a quite sturdy counterbalanced moveable arm but it's not completely solid.

And I hate getting fingermarks on screens !

    MK
