Looking forward for more such exciting roadtests. And Yes, for people with full-time jobs, we need to spend extra time working on these roadtests, but its indeed exciting and fun to do something different. I would love to see some RISC-V arch Dev board roadtest here, as this is one of hot topic today.

I think the element14 road test program is awesome. Randall does a top notch job of managing the program. Writing reviews requires a major time commitment, but I enjoy the experience. The reward is free tech and feedback from the community, and sometimes, vendors making improvements to their products based on findings from reviewers.

I have participated in road tests for nearly ten yours and yours has been the best management of the process in that time.

I definitely wonder what sort of changes are in the pipeline, but either way, I think it's good that we are having these kinds of conversation publicly. Balancing "fun time" with getting work done is a fine line indeed, but I think that those who see it through have the chance to learn a lot of interesting things in a hands-on way that might not otherwise have happened. While I could afford some of the items I have RoadTested, I would not have likely gone out to purchase them on my own just to evaluate. The program has its motivating factor, and I give it as much respect as I can to uphold my end of the contract, in the hopes we both benefit.

I haven't really said this before, but perhaps now it's more understandable why sometimes I'm a little disappointed when a RoadTest review doesn't get many views ... given the amount of effort invested. I always try my best, but alas, not all items will appeal to everyone and sometimes it's just bad luck with regards to who publishes first (sometimes incompletely) and ends up being read more and perhaps gives an incomplete impression of the product. The change in the RoadTest home page is a little interesting - reviews used to be in the middle and now they're off in the sidebar and the presentation of the ratings, views and authors are not visible anymore. I suppose that is fine given that the focus is on the product, but I was surprised to see the change happen suddenly.

Someone said "the time schedule is quite short for creating interesting projects" and I think all roadtesters that have a full job, as I have, agree with him. For some roadtests I had to do a minimal project in order not to miss the deadline and, after that, I tried to extend the project. The problem is that the extension doesn't have the same amount of views as, other roadtest reports pop-up in the platform attracting element14 members' attention.

Your efforts have improved the program. Kudos to you and your team.

The RoadTest review provides a challenge. Yeah it is nice to get the product but I also get satisfaction when my application is selected. It reminds me of job interviews. Getting an offer was the ultimate reward.

Thank you Randall - your job is not easy at all and I appreciate it. For me a road-test is not really fun (though I enjoy doing them) but instead it is an intense work to explore an interesting product and to do my best to come up with a comprehensive test plan/experiments and to create a high quality review.

Whilst some road tests do take a fair bit of effort, I feel that it works pretty well already. It can be a great opportunity to find out about a product you might not normally have had the chance to explore. Element 14 do an amazing job and the road test program is unique in its generosity.
