I had issues in the past measuring temperature of shiny objects with a temp sensor. It gave me the temperature of the image it reflected instead of the temperature of the surface.

It seems that your piece of aluminium is not that shiny, and the meter manages to capture its temperature.

What an excellent video showing clearly how to achieve these results.

Experiments like these are fun to see, and you got good results!

It was great that you monitored everything too, i.e. temperature and timed the experiment while video-recording it!
