The course covered energy sources and energy budgets. Basically, you determine your end product (the kit includes a temp/humidity chip, so in the workshop we set up the BLE transmitter as a weather station) and how often you need the remote to awaken/sample/ transmit. From this you determine your energy needs. Next you evaluate your energy sources (the kit has a solar cell so we determined power output for the lighting in our training room, but other sources such as thermal and vibration were discussed). Obviously the solar cell provided gave adequate energy for the Cypress BLE module so the kit works in normal room light. There is on-board capacitance, and you can always add an external cap or battery as necessary. I've worked with Cypress products for many years and I've found that their kits are very thorough but I for one would struggle without the assistance provided by Cypress and their distributors (my seminar was hosted by Arrow but I have also worked with Future, I'm sure other reps are equally helpful).

RE: Cypress Solar Powered BLE - Out of Box experience

Can we use the kit continously for a few days?
