For this, one would need to compile both the FPGA part

RE: Blog 6 – Developing for the Red Pitaya STEMlab 125-14 PRO Gen 2

I applaud your persistence in trying to get this hardware to work.

RE: Blog 6 – Developing for the Red Pitaya STEMlab 125-14 PRO Gen 2

Personally I avoid cross-compiling if I can help it - it was attractive in the past (and is still done with microcontrollers all the time of course) but for application processors (which is what that Xilinx part contains) will have the performance, and there should be enough space to install a native compiler, and even if there isn't, there should be the capability to mount storage, and then build directly on the target. It eliminates all risk of having slight differences in the build environment. Even the raspberry pi people build their images directly on the Pi as I understand (they have banks of them usable as build servers).

I think it should have been the responsibility of Red Pitaya team to have provided an image and instructions as to how to perform builds directly on the target, and then they would not have given you all the problems you experienced - or, the Red Pitaya team would simply have had to throw more resources at providing a precisely matching SDK - and as seems to be the case, that's not all that easy, things go wrong.
