Thanks for the review. You had me tempted until that switching regulator sound was exposed. This is not the first time I have encountered a switching regulator designed to oscillate in the audible range and even at age 69, I am sensitive to things up to 15KHz. The parent company of the place I work designed a temperature/humidity sensor whose switching regulator power supply operates around 10KHz. We had to stop using it because in an office environment it drove customers crazy. The manufacturer needs to go back and fix that. And, by the way, when they do, they will find they can use smaller and cheaper parts if they go up an order of magnitude in frequency.

Thanks for recording that annoying sound. That would take getting used to. Clearly an unintended hardware bug. Maybe, someone will figure out a damper.

I hope that in part 2 you will include a test of connecting a USB-connected disk (e.g. mSATA or mSSD) inside the case to the HUB USB port. The MicroSD card has performance and longevity issues.

I noticed the high pitch sound too. I think it comes from the cooling bridge. I got used to it.
