Good post.

There are a lot of possibilities for sharing stored data from remote collection stations not necessarily on line.

Is there a way to secure the data on the SD card?

I haven't been able to set the mount rw for non-root users yet.

My fstab line:

I've also tested combinations like

uid=1000,gid=1000
dir_mode=0700,file_mode=0700,nounix

but it always results in not-writeable for non-root:
