Generally the info supplied is great in describing the road test and what is needed. Occasionally a question comes up, but the comments format is used effectively to address them. The comments also expand the discussion in directions of interest to members. With the level of information supplied, I don't think any lack of information is a factor that adversely affects participation.

Just a short note regarding licenses / options: when none are supplied, just state it so (to avoid questions about it). (E.g. for the NGL201 road test, there would be a 'digital trigger' option, but AFAICS its not part of the RT - but I cannot be sure about it).

If I can summarize the feedback provided here. The roadtest information page should be structured in the following way:

1. Title (usually this is the sponsor + the product name)

2. Summary: this is meant to be the background/non-technical information in one or two sentences

3. RoadTest Goals: what the sponsor wants to get from the review

4. Product Variants: a list of all product variants. I identify the variant used in the roadtest (which should be the same under the BUY NOW button)

5. Contents: what the roadtester will receive

6. Hardware Technical Description

7. Software Description: links and expiration dates of any options or licenses

8. Documentation: links to all datasheets and user guides

9. Important dates (due dates)

10 Terms and Conditions (required by element14)

I'd voted for lacking non technical info - for the sole reason I'd like to understand better what the insights a vendor is trying to gain by sponsoring a Road Test.

I miss a clear description of what the intentions and wishes of the sponsor are when offering the equipment/product/service for the road test.

What is the sponsor looking for? Reach a certain audience? Have a beta tester for his product? Obtain content to advertise on social networks? A technical design review or a user review?

Knowing the wishes of the sponsor can help focus efforts in addition to having a criterion of when you can consider your road-test finished.

I marked Just the right about of information because it applies in general, but sometimes I miss EXACT product code of offered product. In this case I ususaly use Buy now link which link to store which contains EXACT product code. I do this because I usualy search for product documentation on external sites (and especialy i search for the product page on vendor website). Sometimes it is hard to udnerstand which variant of the product is offered when multiple variants of the same product exists. For example this happended in 7 Ways to Leave Your Spartan-6 FPGA. There are two variants of board on the market (Arty-S7 suffixed with 25 and second option suffixed with 50 which has better FPGA chip).
