Table of contents

Agilent 33622A Waveform GeneratorIntroducing the 33600A Series, Agilent's newest waveform generator family with 80 MHz and 120 MHz featuring Trueform signal generator technology. Trueform technology offers less jitter, more fidelity and greater resolution than previous generation Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS).
Key Features
  • 100 MHz Pulse: High-bandwidth pulse, 100 MHz, DDS pulse limited to 50 MHz; Set leading and trailing edge times independently
  • PRBS Patterns: Provides standard PRBS patterns, PN3 through PN32; Select PN type, set bit rate, set edge times
  • 2-Channel Coupling: Dual-channel coupling, frequency and amplitude, and tracking; Set start phase for each channel, phase shift between channels
  • Combining Signals: Sum two signals together, frequency and amplitude independent; 2-tone (4-tone on 2-ch), square-sine, noise on pulse, and others
  • Trueform Arbs: Create up to 4 million samples standard, 64 million optional; Connect ARB segments together, with up to 512 segments
  • Low Voltage Settings: Lower voltage range at 1 mVpp, DDS is only 10 mVpp; Set high and low voltage limits to prevent overload on DUT
  • Band Limited Noise: Adjust bandwidth to concentrate the energy of the noise; Noise source goes to full 120 MHz bandwidth
Benchvue

Multiple instrument measurement visibility and data capture improves the way users interact with their instruments and the entire bench.
Benchvue Features
  • Multiple instrument measurement visibility and data capture accelerates testing
  • Easy viewing, capturing and exporting of measurement data and screen shots enables users to derive answers faster
  • Integrated library feature improves measurement knowledge and reduces test setup time
  • Simple point-and-click and capture operation speeds and simplifies common tasks
  • Mobile app lets users monitor and respond to long-running tests from anywhere
Blogging Challenge
Successful RoadTesters will be invited to blog on the Test & Measurement area in addition to providing the standard RoadTest review of the product; the blogs should fully describe use of the product in practical scenarios. Blogs should incorporate videos and images whenever possible. The winner will be announced on Monday, June 16, 2014 and a Grand Prize will be awarded shortly thereafter.
The Grand Prize
imageThe winner of the blogging challenge will receive an Agilent U1273A OLED Digital Multimeter (pictured right).
Shaped to fit
Agilent U1270 series shaped perfectly to fit in your hand, with or without gloves on. Its non-slip ergonomic shape enables you to carry your DMM and perform measurements on the go easily
Tailored to perform
Agilent U1270 series comes with intelligent features such as LPF, which eliminates high frequency noise and harmonics, and Qik-V to determine existence of AC and DC voltage. To improve safety, the U1270 series incorporates visual alert blinks in addition to the beeper for Continuity test for measurements in noisy environments.
Built to last
With IP 54 certified, the U1270 Series is water and dust resistant for harsh working conditions.

Terms & Conditions
  • Testers will be selected on the basis of quality of applications: we expect a full and complete description of why you want to test this particular product and your approach for blogging about it.
  • Testers are required to produce a full, comprehensive and well thought out review, we also expect a minimum of 3 blog posts about this product in the Test & Measurement area of element14. Both are due by June 6, 2014.
  • Failure to provide the review and blogs within the above timescale will result in the enrollee being excluded from future Road Tests.

  • I Had one already I received as a xmas press's t from the wife a few months before the road test, that's what u would have seen during the road test

  • Congrats,

    Was really wondering about that.

  • Yup, that was me, man that was a while back...

Agilent's (Keysight's) favourite reward, an U1273A DMM (OLED 4.5 Digit), very nice and well used

Not sure if there was much fanfare about it though

  • Yeah, I saw his posts on this meter at the time, but he never mentioned if it was the prize for the blogging challenge or his own meter.

  • Hey guys,

Which one of you won the blogging challenge? Did I miss the announcement or was a winner never picked?

  • The 33622A arrived yesterday!  I've unboxed it and started running standard acceptance tests as described in the Agilent User manual.  Frequency is spot on and very stable.

The unit emits a quiet high pitched squeal, even when powered down.  The Agilent site has a firmware upgrade that provides "output mute during power down".  Not sure if that will help.

I had Java trouble last night when using the web connection to the insturment running on a Windows Vista laptop.  Need to sort that out.

Details of my tests and user evaluation will be posted in my Road Test review.

I have a few interesitng applications that I will be exploring in my Test and Measurement blogs on this insturment.  One I'm certain will work, another is speculative, but I think will prove to be interesting and of educational value nonetheless.

Road Test is a fantastic program.  So many intriguing products to compete for, so many opportunities to learn new technologies, so many ways to grow new hobbyist or professional skills.  I encourage every Element14 member to watch the Road Test site and consider applying to review a product of interest.

  • Many thanks for all those who applied for this exciting RoadTest; we have received many extraordinary applications and it hasn't been a simple matter for Agilent to decide who should receive this kit.  However in this instance they have picked the following individuals -
    • Mark Archibald
    • Constantin Razvan Cojocoriu
    • Peter Oakes
    • Nermin Vukojevic
Many thanks to all those who applied: I am pleased to say that we will be offering more RoadTest opportunities of this type in 2014.
  • Really looking forward to it ;-) It's like playing lottery xD
