Review the LinkSwitch-TN2Q Non-Isolated Buck Power Supply RDK-707Q

Table of contents

Do you design power supplies or interested in learning more? Then you may be interested in testing this non-isolated, off-line, power supply kit that beats the performance of linear or cap-dropper designs.

The RDK-707Q is a buck converter designed to provide a non-isolated nominal output voltage of 15 V at 650 mA load from a wide input voltage range of 30 VDC to 550 VDC. Typical automotive applications include bias supplies for active discharge blocks within on board chargers and traction inverters, pyro disconnect in battery packs, control power for HVAC compressors, PTC auxiliary heaters and body control modules. This power supply utilizes the LNK3209GQ from the LinkSwitch-TN2Q family of automotive ICs.

What is the LinkSwitchTm-TN2Q?

The LinkSwitchTm-TN2Q family of ICs for automotive power supplies provide significant reduction in component count compared to traditional discrete solutions making it highly reliable. The device family supports buck, buck-boost and flyback converter topologies. Each device incorporates a 750 V power MOSFET, oscillator, On/Off control, a high-voltage switched current source for self-biasing, frequency jittering, fast (cycle-by-cycle) current limit, hysteretic thermal shutdown, and output and overvoltage protection circuitry onto a monolithic IC.

LinkSwitch-TN2Q ICs consume very little current in standby resulting in power supply designs that meet <50 mW no-load input at 400 VDC input. A full suite of protection features enable safe and reliable power supplies protecting the device and the system against input and output overvoltage faults, device over-temperature faults, lost regulation, and power supply output overload or short-circuit faults.

  • They have given tentative dates.

    Dates mean

Enrollment period is between August 2 2024- September 2 2024. but sometimes they extend.

If suppose, they stick on the application deadline of 2 Sept 2024, then e14 will select some applications which may have to be approved by PI and the final selection would be by 4 Sept 2024. This also sometimes get extended but suppose if they select, they will email asking if you would be available for the Road test and complete review within 60 days.

Then they will ship this board by 9 Sept 2024 and they expects by 15 Sept, all the chosen Road testers would receive the kit, which usually is.

So, 60 days from 15 Sept is 15 Nov. and e14 would monitor it after 30 days that is 15 Oct.

Anyway I am not applying for this rt.

    Good Luck.

  • abhishek2018 is correct. Right now, this activity is in its first phase, the enrollment or application period. Interest members can complete and application to be considered as an official roadtest and receive the product. The enrollment period closes September 2nd.
