In this roadtest, the tester will test and experiment with Infineon's PSOC 6 AI Eval Kit, a machine learning development platform designed with sensor data collection and ML models in mind.  

To fully test the Infineon PSOC 6 AI Kit enabled with DEEPCRAFT Studio (formerly Imagimob Studio) roadtesters will also receive or have access to the following:

• PSOC 6 AI Evaluation Kit (CY8CKIT-062S2-AI // Buy Now  )
• ModusToolbox software v3.2 or later
• DEEPCRAFT Studio (formerly Imagimob Studio) - Development Platform for AI / Machine Learning on Edge Devices
• DEEPCRAFT Ready Models (formerly Imagimob Ready Models) - production-ready AI / Machine Learning models
• Avnet IoTConnect for Infineon's ModusToolbox and framework

What software and tools do you need for this roadtest?

• Code examples for this kit require ModusToolbox software version 3.1 or later. This is available on the ModusToolbox software webpage.
• DEEPCRAFT Studio (formerly Imagimob Studio) software version 4.4 or later. This is available on the DEEPCRAFT Studio (formerly Imagimob Studio) webpage.

RoadTester Instructions:

For each of these tests, show the reader of this review what you discovered utilizing text, images, videos, and/or any other media, so the reader understands what is involved in using the product.

• Test the out of box experience:
  • Working with the documentation, open the box and test the out of the box experience of the Infineon PSOC 6 AI Eval Kit.
  • Explore the board, and then follow the “CY8CKIT-062S2-AI Getting Started Guide” and use DEEPCRAFT Studio (formerly Imagimob Studio) and the onboard sensors to collect data in preparation for creating your model. (You are not required to create a model.)
  • Flash one of the DEEPCRAFT Ready Models (formerly Imagimob Ready Models).
• Develop code using ModusToolbox:
  • Explore how to develop code with the PSOC 6 AI kit
  • Explore available code examples (from “hello world” to connectivity and ML examples, and more)
  • Debug development code directly with the KitProg3 on-board debugger
• (Optional) Learn ML models on the PSOC 6 can be easily connected to the cloud with Avnet’s IoTConnect:
  • By following a step-by-step guide on GitHub, you can create an interactive dashboard leveraging the Imagimob Sound Classification model without any software development! To discover how this experience was made, check out the IoTConnect libraries in ModusToolbox and start using them today with Project Creator!
  • If applicable, your roadtest can include the use of Avnet’s IoTConnect software by either:
    • Using IoTConnect libraries within ModusToolbox
    • Or using a pre-build binary made available through GitHub from Avnet
  • Test out the IoTConnect dashboards for easy visualization of the Imagimob ready models.

What is the PSOC 6 Artificial Intelligence Evaluation Kit?

The PSOC 6 AI Evaluation Kit is a cost-effective, small form-factor, hardware platform focused on Machine Learning (ML). It enables customers to evaluate Infineon’s ML platform DEEPCRAFT Studio (formerly Imagimob Studio), as well as ready-to-deploy ML models, and other software products. The board is designed for easy prototyping and lets customers collect real-life data to build ML products fast.

 The PSOC 6 AI Evaluation Board has the following features:

• PSOC 6 MCU – CY8C624ABZI-S2D44
• Murata LBEE5KL1YN module and Bluetooth® functionality based on AIROC CYW43439
• 512 Mbit external Quad SPI NOR flash that provides fast, expandable memory for data and code
• 6-axis motion sensor (BMI270)
• Magnetometer (BMM350)
• High Performance digital MEMS microphone (IM72D128)
• Barometric pressure sensor (DPS368)
• RADAR sensor (BGT60TR13C)
• KitProg3 onboard SWD programmer/debugger with USB-UART and USB-I2C bridge functionality. One mode selection button and one Status LED for KitProg3
• Supports 1.8 V and 3.3 V operation of PSOC 6 MCU

What is ModusToolbox?

ModusToolbox software is a set of tools that enable you to integrate Infineon devices into your existing development methodology. If you are new to PSOC 6 MCU, and ModusToolbox IDE, see the application note AN228571 - Getting Started with PSOC 6 MCU on ModusToolbox software (see Documentation section on this page) to help you familiarize with the PSOC 6 MCU and help you create your own design using the ModusToolbox IDE. There are various code examples to evaluate the PSOC 6 AI Evaluation Board, which familiarizes you with PSOC 6 MCU and creates your own design. These examples can be accessed through ModusToolbox.
