What were the biggest problems encountered?: At first, there was no "good" piface tutorial found on the web. And at first only the OS package is available. that means we needed to reinstall the pi OS w/ the piFace modules. but lately I found some links on how to install it on current OS w/o reinstalling the whole thing. just what I need.
Detailed Review:
The piFace is perfect.
I planned before to build a home automation system but on arduino (before rasp pi was born).
considering I don't have hardware background, it was difficult for me to work on arduino and build other components for the project.
now that piFace is there, it's easy to create projects w/ it.
I used python-django on my server side w/c means I can directly connect to piFace.
I made another server that handles http request for my mobile site. why? because pi is really slow and I don't wanna use it's power on processing the UI and stuff.
the project is very big for me as a starter on hardware but i made some progress w/ it and it's not difficult to learn.
