Detailed Review:
My thanks for being accepted on this road challenge for the Catch Santa. With Christmas over and a significant delay in receiving the required items lost some of the Holiday spirit of what the challenge first attracted me to.
Honestly, besides verifying the received parts, all testing has been performed by my 14 year old son and even though my fingers itched I managed to remain hands free and let him discover the product and learn of its capabilities.
He managed to troubleshoot and build the Kit and take some rudimentary pictures and video. For some reason, NOOBS would just not work on the supplied SD card. He ended using rasbian, XBMC and various flavors of android. Unfortunately, the kit did not hold up to an early teens inquisitive nature and after numerous break down and rebuilds trying to get this or that just right, some components including the camera no longer managed to remain functional to complete the challenge for taking video and pics to be saved for submission.
With that said, this has sparked a whole new world of wonder and creativity in his budding mind and he now looks at ways to utilize the Pi and Arduino to solve problems most kids his age wouldn't realize were even there. The enthusiasm for pushing the limits for what this little kit could do seeped into his life and was contagious to those around him including his cousins, teachers and family (little brothers included).
Peace
Thank you
