What were the biggest problems encountered?: The Open Collectors did not work very well for designs using numerical displays
Detailed Review:
I played with the PiFace for quite awhile testing out everything I would use it for. The inputs and outputs worked very well, however when I attempted to use a numerical display but the fact that it has Open Collectors instead of normal IO and the polarity of the LEDs caused it to not funcion, which is somehting I probably should have concidered before attempting to use it. When used with other electronics the relays and outputs worked wonderfully. If the outputs could be somehow switched the PiFace would have worked a lot of better, however for all other purposes it performed wonderfully, and I enjoyed working with it. Below are pictures of my first PiFace program and it running on the PiFace. Currently I am working on a garage door opener to safely open and close the garage door via an android device.
