What were the biggest problems encountered?: The Default resistance value of the Adaptor is 10Kohm(This problem occurs only when the DMM Resistance range is set greater than 10Kohm.) Reproduction Steps: 1. Connect the adaptor to the DMM. 2. Set the DMM mode to Resistance. 3. Set the Range to Ohm. 4. Increase the range from ohn to 10Kohm. Observation: When the range is set to 10Kohm then the resistance value is displayed as 10.898. Expected: As the resistance is not connected, DMM should Display as 0 ohms.

I have a few Tips for the Manufacturer/Developer for further improvements in this product to stand out from the competition.

Short Term (Delta Change): If there is a DLL supported for your device to read the values from DMM then this device can easily be integrated into the HIL setups (HIL setups to monitor) which would increase their customer base.

Long Term: The device needs to be controlled via software as well. (Currently, there is only one-way communication from the device to the PC. the device should also be software controlled)

A software-controlled digital multimeter (DMM) has several advantages over traditional, standalone DMMs:

  • I have recentIy purchased one MPt30679, which is apparently a rebadged UTI-T UT161E.It works fine as a multimeter but I would much like to use its communication and recording features.  I have 2 questions and would much appreciate any assistance.  The UT161E apparently has a Bluetooth option but I can find no information on the UTI-T website. I have downloaded and apparently installed software for the UT161E from this website. Open the .exe file and it always seeks to update the computer registry, something that occurs once at instal time! It also cannot find the meter (connected using USB cable provided). Have reinstalled software, with no improvement. I receive no reply from messages to UTI-T.  Is there any knowledge of these two topics among forum members?  Harry Battam
