Introduction

In this roadtest, i shared 4 tips and tricks using the Multicomp Pro MP730679 - Digital Multimeter.

  • I recently purchased one MP730679 after my Fluke expired, and as a multimeter it it fine. This unit is apparently a rebadged Unitrend (UTI-T) UT161E. UTI-T indicate that Bluetooth is an option for this meter, but there is apparently no information on the UTI-T website. I have downloaded and installed the software (see Page 24 of user manual) for the UT161E on my laptop. However it appears to have problems. When I run the app exe. file it seeks to update the registry before opening the app, something that is expected to occur once at install time. And, once open the app cannot find the instrument, connected to USB via supplied cable. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the SW, and tried turning the unit on/off. No response. I have also emailed UTI-T but I get no response. So I am not ready to give this unit 5 stars. Any advice or knowledge sharing would be much much appreciated.  Harry Battam
