The previous posts were a showcase: let the timer module do some calculations while generating and and measuring signals. In this much simpler post let's take a step

RE: Create and Measure signals with Hercules High End Timer (HET) - 4: Getting Started

A much simpler example, from another getting started guide (Application Report SPNA069 - High End Timer (HET) Getting Started Guide):

[embed:dc8ab71f-3b98-42d9-b0f6-e21e02a0f8e2:3ef06e6b-9b7d-4651-b12d-db8be7f5e991:type=text&text=%3B+HET_PWM_01_H.het%0AL00%3A+CNT+%7Bnext%3DL01%2C+reg%3DA%2C+irq%3DOFF%2C+max%3D0x214A%2C+data%3D0%7D%0A%3B+PWM+%2850%25+duty+cycle%29%0AL01%3A+ECMP+%7Bnext%3DL02%2C+reg%3DA%2C+hr_lr%3DLOW%2C+en_pin_action%3DON%2C+pin%3DCC0%2C+action%3DPULSEHI%2C+irq%3DOff%2C%0Adata%3D0x10A5%7D%0A%3B+PWM+%2825%25+duty+cycle%29%0AL02%3A+ECMP+%7Bnext%3DL03%2C+reg%3DA%2C+hr_lr%3DLOW%2C+en_pin_action%3DON%2C+pin%3DCC2%2C+action%3DPULSEHI%2C+irq%3DOff%2C%0Adata%3D0x852%7D%0AL03%3A+BR+%7Bnext%3DL00%2C+cond_addr%3DL00%2C+event%3DNOCOND%7D]

This one creates two PWMs with the same frequency but a different duty cycle, on HET pins 0 and 2.

RE: Create and Measure signals with Hercules High End Timer (HET) - 4: Getting Started

*1: Not available from TI USA anymore - this is a backup from TI Japan. If you have a link to a good TI application note, better download it. They are disappearing from their website regularly, also for active components and designs.

Their wiki site, containing labs and errata that have never been moved to official documentation, is slanted for removal. I think their e2e community (as a forum to discuss, not a support forum) and the LaunchPad initiative are all but dead. Don't know what's going on there but it looks like they gave up on the maker community as a gateway for future customers.

I find this very disturbing!
