It does sound a little bit like yet another daytime tv university started up, and these folks happened to be lucky enough to get Steve Wozniak as a spokesperson.

Let's not forget there are already several other free options that already have a proven track record, are supported by multitudes of existing universities around the world, and did I mention they're free?

My two favourites are:

www.edx.org

www.coursera.org

There is a (relatively small) charge if you want to get official certificates or diplomas, but the courses are all free (as far as I've seen so far).

Yes, we need more talented people to help push the STEM agenda with quality education.

Most of the current teachers do not have the technical talents needed to inspire and lead kids into the advanced technology.

I proposed the idea on using computers to accelerate student development back in the 1980's, but the technology was not mature enough then.

We now have the means to do it well, we just need the most talented people to dedicate themselves to helping.
