My first thought is are you miss using the term "digital currency" for a cashless transaction?

My second thought is if you really think you are talking about digital currency, then I think you are basing this blog on 2 years old info. In 2017, digital currencies pose significant risks.

I am a subscriber to The Financial Times (ft.com) and crypto-currencies are talked about often. Case in Point, Bit coin.

Bitcoin has skyrocketed in the market, But that doesn't mean anything more than a speculative bubble that is waiting to burst, again, as it did in Septemeber. It's very volatile not viable as a currency for the average Joe. Bitcoin still has regulatory hurdles to get over, specifically, the law was written for securities, not streams of computer code.

Investors are talking about it yet not buying into it. There's basically not many people investing in it. Without broadscale investment, it ain't going nowhere. Digital currencies of our decade are like penny stocks of the 1980s -- still hype, only the corrupt make money, and far from the real thing.

https://www.ft.com/content/4c700f9a-b267-11e7-aa26-bb002965bce8
