What an amazing achievement! I was an absolute space freak at that time, reading and watching any about the space program. I remember being glue to the screen watching all of the coverage. As a interesting twist of fate, I later worked at Sperry Flight Systems, where they developed systems for the space shuttle program (including mux/demux equipment to pass controls and data throughout the shuttle, for weight reductions, i.e. less wiring). We would gather and watch all of the shuttle launches and milestones. Exciting times!

I am happy to be one of the young guys (I was 7 y.o.) already passionated of electronic and anything "technologic" that saw the worldwide moon landing. My parents bought the first black and white television to see the moon landing from Italy with the historical comment of Ruggero Orlando.
