&lt;p&gt;I found that using the hardware drawing accelerator (D/AVE) does not give a reliable display. It&amp;#39;s faster, but there are drawing errors. The photo above is without the accelerator. &lt;p&gt;changes to do after creating a GCC project, with the QE-for-LCD wizard:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;fix touch display reset pin to P07&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;change the loader file. Reserve 2 255K blocks of RAM&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;adapt the QE and FIT attributes to let the buffers point to those 2 RAM blocks&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The first sections of the post above are investigations. The required changes (including loader script source) are in the last section:&amp;nbsp;Software Configuration&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The IDE configuration method and SDK to enable functionality for the Renesas parts is neat, it is similar for the the RA series too.&lt;/p&gt;
