Hi,

I could find reference manual similar to STM32 which usally contains Vector table and individual peripheral register mapping. Does Maximum similar document for this device?

Hi,

I am trying to work with the MAX32660 EVSYS. Unfortunately, I am unable to getting into the debugging session.

I got the error with the when trying to connect to GDB server.

localhost:3333: Operation timed out.

What could be the problem? Or do I brick the EVKit?

Can you please give me some advice?

Second experience is not that positive. If you download the SDK now - or if you take the update at startup, it removes MAXIM debug support from the OpenOCD debug plugin (the debugger on this evaluation kit).

Funny enough, it leaves support for competitor's systems in place. Maxim's config files are gone.

I raised support case CAS-23802-C3X7H7.

It shows that Maxim does not test new releases and auto updates on their own devices. As far as I can see, the whole MAX3xxxx range is impacted.

They haven't replied to my ticket, but it's an issue confirmed by another user.

That other user, an element14 member, has found a way to spoof data from the installation program and was able to get a previous version of the MAX32660 specific file. He posted it on the roadtest page, in the comments.

With that file in the right place, it works.

A road test shows real life experience with a device. I will include it in my end report - also my experience with the support ticket. I believe Maxim is aware that their device is being reviewed, I mentioned it in the ticket.

I also think it's wise for a company to have someone monitor the proceedings of road tests on element14.

One of the examples doesn't work fully on my board.

The FreeRTOSDemo works in general.

It blinks the onboard LED as expected, and listens to commands from a serial terminal.

But once I test the low-power mode (tickless), by executing, from the serial terminal the command tickless 1, the board does not wake up from pressing the on-board button.

I've opened a support case at maxim:

I will also check how easy it is to wake up, what the possible wake-up triggers are.

The device arrived, and the first debug session worked perfectly.

When I plugged the debugger into the laptop, the drivers were automatically applied.

serial port
HID device
disk
debugger

That's a lot for a single USB port. Windows Explorer automatically opened (like for all mbed enabled devices).

In Eclipse, I used the debug configuration that was created when I imported the Hello World example.

What I haven't found out yet - it's the first time that I work with the OpenOCD debugger - is where the printf() output can be seen.

One of the projects, the Instruction Cache Example, fails to build in the Maxim's toolchain.

The header fie icc.h is mising.

I found one on github for another controller (part of the mbed-os part of their api for MAX32625 - maybe forgot to port or test outside mbed?).

Copying it to the project's base folder solves the compilation errors, but I haven't tried yet if it works at execution time on the MAX32660.

Something for Maxim to look into.
