What about we don't have Pmod VGA expansion module, so how would we map the connections with the board

Despite of finishing the implementation of all tasks a while ago, I could not start writing the blogs on time due to some personal reasons. It seems that now there is no way to finish writing them before the deadline :( I am halfway through the second blog but I still plan to keep posting them even after the deadline so that the community can use/improve my project if they wish to do so. I will take a bit more time to finish the blogs since this project calls for a great amount of detail. Great start. Thanks for referencing the tutorial. I'm glad the tutorial was helpful to you.

I am also now fiddling with the PmodVGA module, I am trying to make a thermal camera with visualization on VGA displays. I have already finished the hardware part with double buffer for the animations using the 256MB DDR3L SDRAM module. Now I am adapting the driver for the MLX90640 sensor, I already communicate with the sensor module and get data but I still have a few days to have it complete, I probably won't be able to finish it by the end date of the program.

I will follow this project with great interest, because 1) I love everything FPGAs driving displays and 2) I learn a little Verilog as a side benefit.

The combinational approach for the colour DACs is interesting when you start mixing colours. Different propagation delays might cause colour shadows at the pixel edges. With 25 MHz ( = 40 nsec) pixel clock, a few nanoseconds skew could produce this effect. But the the FPGA is almost empty, the P&R might be clever enough to put all the logic close to the IO cells to minimize the effect. I would register all RGB signals to eliminate this potential effect, or not and you get a beautiful retro effect. [emoticon:c4563cd7d5574777a71c318021cbbcc8]
