It is good to know that a solution is possible. Hopefully it will be implemented and the amount of plastic reduced.

Unfortunately the only way to solve this problem is to do away with the throw away society option.

That will be a hard sell.

Personally, I enjoyed the bottle return society we had in the 1960's.

I made my spending money by going along the road picking up tossed bottles.

If you make containers valuable again, then people will pick them up.

If they have no value, then you get a big heap of garbage everywhere, not just in the ocean.

This is totally a people issue, not a technology issue.

It’s incredibly awful to see the pictures of the garbage patch. I’m glad that someone is actively working to clean it up.
