I am sure that the hardware is fine.

While Power ON , Display says "Invalid MQTT status". I feel IBM people have removed the support

to this to display sensor data directly on your browser while POWEN ON.

what is MQTT status invalid means? Is it that IBM people have added extra security to block this?

How do I get some help? If any body can respond, it will be great.

J.Antony

jobyiuac@gmail.com

RE: Internet of Things (IoT) Kits and Platforms Review

Thanks a lot for sharing a blog for internet of things. As a result a new user may use up costly services that may not be necessary when starting out.

AWS was similar and Artik Cloud was much better than Azure since you can restrict the number of things you want to do as well as well documented video demos. I have not gotten around to work with IBM's Watson but will be following the instruction laid out by you in the IoT mBED kit review.

What bothers me most is that the use cases for IoT services have not been documented by the cloud service providers themselves to demonstrate their platforms. They all use the same argument of sending temperature or turning ON or OFF an LED. I understand that it's the hello world of the IoT world but how does one platform out perform the outer? - This question remains unanswered.

I myself have setup a demo project for IoT systems however instead of using a cloud based system, have used locally deployable projects including OpenHAB and some NodeJS, C++ and Python code. The idea is that the test becomes yours to run and if you want a cloud implementation, just find a service such as digital ocean and let the code run there. Yes taking care of the security and framework updates become an additional overhead but you will be setting up a software team anyway if you use one of the mentioned cloud services as well. Which brings us to the dilemma- "When to use what?"

Things will keep evolving and improving and everyone will have their point of view. I only hope its becomes simpler before it gets bigger.

Cheers,

IP
