Interfacing any generic controller with esp01 using UART in AT mode. So that new users can actually learn what data is being passed around when wifi is being used.

2. ESP32C6 - latest beast arrival from Espressif. Has wifi, bt/ble and zigbee. Supports thread and matter as well.

3. NRF based ble boards. New users can learn latest ble standard and create small low powered wearables.

Optionally interfacing GSM/LTE boards with generic controllers using UART or with Linux under pppos mode (some controllers with USB host mode supports this mode, but results are not desirable).

RE: The Best of IoT Development Boards

I would add Raspberry [embed:ad4490ac-0ce8-4f2d-a04c-9285646d5689:1f5a8b21-f82f-4c3c-a41a-9059eee01666:text=Pi%20Pico%20W&style=link&farnell=3996082&newark=38AK5986&cpc=&avnetemea=&avnetema=&avnetasia=&comoverride=&cmpoverride=&AreaInteracted=rte-content&bom=], [embed:ad4490ac-0ce8-4f2d-a04c-9285646d5689:00fa8ece-cd1c-41bf-a135-24989aad0d6a:text=Arduino%20Uno%20R4%20WiFi&style=link&farnell=4208544&newark=77AK2287&cpc=&avnetemea=&avnetema=&avnetasia=&comoverride=&cmpoverride=&AreaInteracted=rte-content&bom=], [embed:ad4490ac-0ce8-4f2d-a04c-9285646d5689:50a24001-0010-4603-8754-cf3187f36d10:text=Adafruit%20Feather%20M0%20WiFi&style=link&farnell=48AC7834&newark=48AC7834&cpc=&avnetemea=&avnetema=&avnetasia=&comoverride=&cmpoverride=&AreaInteracted=rte-content&bom=], [embed:ad4490ac-0ce8-4f2d-a04c-9285646d5689:52e46049-d910-4d28-9c34-3115241a48a7:text=ESP32%20S3&style=link&farnell=74AK7863&newark=74AK7863&cpc=&avnetemea=&avnetema=&avnetasia=&comoverride=&cmpoverride=&AreaInteracted=rte-content&bom=],
