&lt;p&gt;It seems quite speedy from the video. A speaker for beeping on successful scan could be useful too.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Quite a few years ago I needed a code scanner system for a commercial inventory system, and we used an off-the-shelf scanner, but it was actually quite limiting due to the traditional interface on it (I think it was RS-232 or might have been USB HID keyboard).
