This is a great idea and thanks for posting. I remember this coming up in a different thread where there was a brief discussion. I have a number of DIP adapters but they aren't cheap so we discussed then about creating a board of these parts to manufacture. Did the mouse bites add a significant amount to the cost? It's a bit of a cheek, but do you have the schematic to post - one could then construct any combination of breakout board for manufacturing.

uk.farnell are selling multicomp passives at a really low price, for example you could get 100 SMD resistors for something like 40p which is comparable to the price paid for the kit mentioned. MLCC are a smidgen more expensive but you might pay £1 - £1.50 for a 100 of them. The biggest problem you'd have is bumping the order up to get past the handling/shipping fee and of course it's a fair effort to build your own kit up!!

This is a great method for using SMD components in projects. I have used to multiple time while making DIY electronics projects. But if you are using ICs that work at RF frequencies, these board will cause a problem.
