Introduction
For a recent environment sensor project I wanted to make use of an analog moving-coil meter.

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Great project, Shabaz.

Can't believe how cheap these meters are from Aliexpress, and also from Banggood.

Any views on these 2 suppliers?

Neil

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Fun project.

I might have to play with this one.

DAB

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Shabaz,

That was a fun and entertaining Blog. I do like a bit of graphic manipulation. I don't think I will ever make a similar meter myself as I like the flexibility of a digital display but it was fun to see what can be done.

Dubbie

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Very nice, how easy was it to get into the AlieExpress meter to change the scale.

Have you found any one still selling good quality meter movements ?

MK

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Hi Shabaz,

You always manage to find the neatest things. I still love analog meters and I have a bin or two of different sizes and shapes. As you mentioned the problem is always finding a way to make the scale work. Being able to print a new dial will be awesome. I just finished fixing and Old BK 290 Multimeter yesterday. Fortunately the dial and meter were in good condition and didn't need any work. I will book mark your posting for future use.

John

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Very nice - and useful. I'll have to try it out if I can find the time to hunt down my spare meters (probably easier to buy new ones).

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Great project Shabaz!!! I have a vintage amperemeter Yokogawa around 1970, similar to the Milli amperemeter I have used with microphone and lights. Seeing your projects I am confident that I can use it as analog measure device for something totally different coming from a sensor. Am I right?

Enrico

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Very nice! I have seen other custom dials scales, but these look great.

RE: Meter Dial Creator Toolkit

Nice.
