It was good that you followed up and I have enjoyed reading about your experiment to determine the effect of the brass splitter connectors. I have found the biggest danger in these clips is that they will push on hard but then seat into a loose final position. For this reason I almost always tighten the retention tension before using them. This was also a nice opportunity to highlight your resistance meters.
