ok, now how the positioning system works? each one of them have a gps or it's all donne by acurate timing? The hight part i think is donne by reading a pressure sensor but the position feedback?

Coolest thing I've seen for a while! Can imagine the ominous drone of them flying into battle in their thousands though...

Hi Cabe,

The Swarm idea is perfect for rapid search and rescue over a wide area. Put an IR detector and a camera and then send them out in a search formation and you can quicklly map the survivor locations in short order. They would be idea for a disaster site. You could fit them into an airplane or truck and quickly get them to the area of need. Set up a couple of GPS reference points and then send them out.

A really neat application of an otherwise obnoxious toy.

Very impressive. I'm sure someday a swarm will either come to my rescue or to capture me, though I hope its the former.
