If you combine this AI capability with the MRI visualization of your inner thoughts, I quickly come up with a capability to create a technology that could indeed be used for many nefarious uses. I won't elaborate them here as I suspect many would be shocked at the way I can translate ideas into potential uses, plus, I don't want to give someone with less restraint any ideas.

However, you do expose the most important truth. Technology and AI will continue to progress beyond the understanding of most people. Its use for good or evil will lay in the hands of those people who fund the research and reuse the technology. Most people assume that the technology will only be used to help others. Unfortunately, history has shown that some people will use the technology to try to control others. We must all be diligent in our pursuit to find the evil uses and eliminate them before they can be used to hurt others.

I always apply the "Trust but verify" test whenever I see potenial misuse of technology. I hope the rest of you do the same. Otherwise we will see some very nasty implimentations of some of this capability.

Technology should only exist to serve and assist mankind, not the reverse. We must all stay diligent and steadfast in our efforts to keep technology in its proper place. Only those of us who can understand the technology can do this important task. Those less capable of understanding technology will not see the problem until it is too late.
