I think this device is a good approach.

The cost of the truck plus the amount of damage it could do makes the cost/benefit model work well.

Hopefully they will spur the next step to getting these monitoring devices in all vehicles. I know myself that there were times I was not fully awake while driving and should not have been on the road. I think a lot of people would stop and take a break if they had a watchdog to alert them to erratic driving behavior.

We still lose too many people on the highways due to a lack of focus.
