It is amazing with today's platforms you can achieve rock solid stability, very accurate positioning control, autonomous control with return to home, as well as very good payload capability. With the advancement of sensors and processors, it can only get more exciting.

Bearing in mind that radar doesn't cover the oceans and there is a dependance of aircraft based systems to report where they are.

Every other object that flies in the airspaces requires to have a transponder, but no-one has come up with something for drones.

I think more focus on how to identify where they are is equally important, which will also help with the complaints from neighbours, etc.

Like any new technology, it will take a while before drones become acceptable for mainstream life.

Consider the noise. Would you like to be annoyed by buzzing drones every time you went outdoors? What about a park or a nature preserve?

Just one of many social issues that need to be decided.

The value of drones in emergencies is quickly becoming a much needed use for drones, so they will eventually be used, but there will be restrictions.

So just stand by, we will see more news, both pro and con before the drones fill the sky.
