So i am working with thunderboard sense 2 and simplicty studio. I want to use an external PIR sensor connected to the board to get PIR data in my PC. As in read the analog PIN and valu...

RE: Interfacing PIR sensor to Thunderboard sense 2

Unfortunately, there are no short cuts to learning... I suggest following the guidance given in Simplicity Studio when you plug in your Thunderboard 2 board... I believe they provide a quick start guide, which gives a great overview and provides links to explaining the Bluetooth stack etc. Understand this document and you are well on your way.

https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/quick-start-guides/qsg169-bluetooth-sdk-v3x-quick-start-guide.pdf

The only tip I can think of at this stage, is that as the values read from your analog pin can be larger than a byte, you will need to choose a characteristic type that matches your data type. In this case you could choose "short" or "integer" to handle the data transfer.

RE: Interfacing PIR sensor to Thunderboard sense 2

I had done same thing differently with RaspberryPi and a camera.

The PIR sensors I have used have digital output after detection with a reset after a period of time. Are you sure you need an analog read? It has been some time since I’ve used Simplicity Studio but there are a number of examples included, almost certainly digital and analog reads. The Silabs forums would be a good place to search and ask for help as well.
