Hi,

It might be good to split up the project, because the chances of someone owning those same precise two instruments, _and_ requiring a component inventory system might be low. It likely needs configurability (or is it planned to be open source), so that users can configure different instruments.

For MAC + FRNSI owners this looks like a useful thing.

BUT

You have posted this in two different groups which is a really bad idea.

I t means that the index on the E14 page is cluttered and any replies or discussion will be split - and less useful.

I suggest you delete one of the threads (or ask E14 support to merge them for you.)

It looks pretty good - decent specs, decent manual with all the remote control commands described and a very reasonable price for a new one.

Looks like a very good buy at half the new price.

It has remote sensing which I think is unusual in this price range (and is a good thing to have).

Very interesting.

I learned how to use ferrite cores back in the 1980's when we had to send our box for EMI testing.

Initially, we failed miserably, but then we hired their engineers to consult and they showed us how to use ferrite cores to clean up everything.

A little rework and we had a box that passed.

We installed it in the helicopters and it worked fine.

Nice write up. I tried the PicoScope 7 a while ago, in its early version, but found it quite buggy. I might have to give it another try. I noticed that for windows you need version 10 or 11, which I don't really like much. I have it on my laptop, but my main system is still running windows 7.

I have used my Picoscope for many years, I find it very useful for quick look things.

If I need more horsepower, I have an old Tektronix 100Mhz BW scope.

It lacks all of the fancy new features, but it still gives you pretty good data for something analog.

Nice review. I also thought about Siglent SPD1305X or something used from series HP/Agilent E36xx, but it is worth adding this one to the list.

I have the same one. Works great and has a considerably faster boot time than the R&S power supply.

I remember when the early SPICE like tools emerged.

I had already transitioned to system level designs, so I never had the need to use them.
