Your iron may be controlling based on temperature further back up the shaft, and not close to the tip, so it is probable that the heater may well be at a higher temperature than the tip. I&amp;#39;m just speculating though.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thanks for the write-up, this is a much more cost-effective way to measure, for at least good comparison when tips or the whole iron is changed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=22014&amp;AppID=13&amp;AppType=Weblog&amp;ContentType=0" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
