Hi, while the idea is interesting, and some what impressive, I to agree destroying the deck mechanism is a shame. But now knowing that it is possible to do that, how about adding something in without removing anything. I'm thinking like adding a mini amplifier inside. I'm know engineer but I've thought about it alot lately.

At first, I thought what a way to trash a nice deck. But after thinking about it I kind of like it. But the dam touchscreen is well to easy. The Display is a good idea but not touch. You have the nice switches you could have used them (left to right).

Eject ( Menu)

Record

Rewind (Go Back one Song)

Play

Fast Forward (Skip to the next Song)E

Pause

----

FF Next Album

RW Album before current Album.

PLAY puts you in play mode on track #1

Record (next playlist)

NOW this is all well an good but remember, we are supposed to be engineers. AND that means you should not have re-invent the wheel. LOL

Interesting project, although I would agree with [mention:b0bc65b9ecdc4307bd967592f00e340a:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] that it would be a shame to destroy a nice tape deck to stick a mobile phone into it. It seems like there are plenty of wave to integrate MP3 music into your home.
