I can't find the info on how to influence the graphs.

I haven't found the API info for some calls that Keithley are making in their scripts. The Intro script uses ki.display, ki.getpixel, .... and I haven't found the info on those.

The same for the drawing functions they use in some apps, like display.create() to draw lines and circles.

There may be a public document out there, but I haven't found it yet.

I found the way to display images in this blog by accident. I recognised that the intro script used BASE64 or something like that (I guessed the 64 and it was bingo the first time [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-4d7adafe-18e1-49a7-af8a-7dd03fc5848a/4152.contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16] ).

I only learned the images had to be PNG because the instrument complained that the first image I tried to load wasn't PNG format [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-4d7adafe-18e1-49a7-af8a-7dd03fc5848a/4152.contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16].

At that time I knew the encoding was right and the format was wrong. A few minutes later I had a first image on the screen.

RE: Keithley DMM6500: How to Create a Bitmap for a Custom App

You're both a tough crowd [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-4d7adafe-18e1-49a7-af8a-7dd03fc5848a/8231.contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16] - I have the device 20 days and these are pro development requests.

I don't even know LUA yet - barely managed to multiply an existing measured value with a variable....

RE: Keithley DMM6500: How to Create a Bitmap for a Custom App

It's a great feature! Translating an instrument (e.g. oscilloscope) to a software front-end hasn't been done successfully very often.

I think that the user interface for this instrument, if you translate the 8 soft buttons next to the display to screen buttons, would work well on a remote touch screen.

Maybe once computers are more and more equipped with touch screens, instrument builders have a better chance to provide a user friendly remote app ...

RE: Keithley DMM6500: How to Create a Bitmap for a Custom App

looks nice.
