I'm currently more likely to get a fitbit I think - the feature set looks great, and a lower price. I'm thinking the fitbit 'Charge HR' model - anyone have this? It may motivate me more to go to the gym!

I like the fact that it vibrates to alert on phone call, and small/thin so it is not conspicuous/can be pushed under a shirt sleeve, since none of these new devices are really fashion items. And battery life for the fitbit seems just-about acceptable.

Is this really wearable technology or a thinly veiled advert for itoy.

Some of the functions work standalone, but you need a iphone in order to achieve everything.

Is it possible to modify the code to suit other uses ... maybe, but there are also android devices around that you can wear and interact with your phone.

My last watch broke in June 2003 and I have seen no reason to replace it.

I have heard the news about the integrated health applications for the watch, which might change my mind, but I agree with mark, 17,000 USD for a watch is way beyond my interest zone.

I am sure that the "in" crowd will be buying the watch to show off that they had enough money to buy one. Or at least they were dumb enough to spend that much on a watch! Despite being an Apple guy, and a user of various iGadgets, I'm going to stand back on this release and see what (if any) issues are discovered by the early adopters, and wether they can improve battery life..

I do like some Apple products, but don't see the point in a watch that cannot even function for a day on a full charge.

Apple watch, yawn, yawn,

Same as others have already done but with a sprinkling of apple magic dust and a silly price tag.

Any one who spends $17,000 or whatever on the fancy one with exactly the same works as the "cheap" $399 one needs their head examined.

Now the BBC tiny board - that's quite interesting - add a strap and you have what an engineer might call a cool watch !

And to stay fit - get a dog - purchase price in the same range as the watch, will last about the same length of time, helps make new friends (real social networking) and far more fun !!!
