This touch...</description><dc:language>en-US</dc:language><generator>Telligent Community 12</generator><item><title>RE: Tracking Kids</title><link>https://community.element14.com/technologies/wireless/b/blog/posts/tracking-kids</link><pubDate>Mon, 09 Dec 2013 20:25:32 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:351ed6a4-45dc-4ee9-8f86-c6f6d7fb697c</guid><dc:creator>DAB</dc:creator><slash:comments>0</slash:comments><description>&lt;p&gt;Good post.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The issues of tracking and or identifying people is one of those BIG issues.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I think we can all agree that the safety of children is essential when they are young, but at what point do we NOT track them?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The decision is much more complicated than age.&amp;nbsp; Each individual needs to &amp;quot;prove&amp;quot; that they are able to interact with society to be given freedom of movement.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Others, due to health needs or irresponsible behavior&amp;quot; might need further adult supervision before they earn their freedom.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Each person has a different opinion about &amp;quot;big brother&amp;quot; monitoring their activities.&amp;nbsp; Especially with the proliferation of technical capability to do so.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Putting a chip into everyone is probably too intrusive.&amp;nbsp; However, identifying people who have proven to be dangerous to society might respond positively to the idea that they are always under adult monitoring.&amp;nbsp; What is fair, again it depends upon who you ask.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;From my point of view, society owes it to the lawful people to keep tabs on those who are not lawful or law abiding.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Even so, those monitored should be fully aware as to why they are being monitored and what they did to deserve the extra scrutiny.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Good and Bad are in the eye of the individual.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;One good idea may be bad for many people.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A bad idea can adversely affect good people.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Our only option is to let social consensus determine who, what and when such issues are needed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We just need to understand that once we go too far, we might already have given too much of our freedom away to ever get it back.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Just my opinion.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;DAB&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=16815&amp;AppID=5&amp;AppType=Weblog&amp;ContentType=0" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
