Learning about Bluetooth has been on my to do list for quite some time, but up until now I haven't been very good about setting the time aside to pursue this endeavor.
Recently I participated in the IO Link quiz and as luck would have it

RE: The MAX32666FTHR and My Introduction to Bluetooth

I just read in a forum like this: Can I use MAX32665-32668 CPUs with Mbed OS?

The Maxim microcontrollers are very powerful, I wish they were in more hand-solder-friendly packages. The tiny board looks useful.

Regarding the app, there is a free app called LightBlue (on Android, I don't know if it is available for Apple) which is handy for testing out BLE. It will be able to connect to your BLE peripheral, and will then list all the items (called characteristics) that you can read or write. It's very useful, recommended for experimenting with BLE.

RE: The MAX32666FTHR and My Introduction to Bluetooth

Nice board and good experiments. Seems like a powerful board for Bluetooth connectivity..

Looks similar to the MAX32620FTHR. I think it's part of the family of MAX32XXX series. I just bought MAX PICO board for some experiments

RE: The MAX32666FTHR and My Introduction to Bluetooth

Yes, communication protocols take time to learn.

I have seen them develop over the last 50 years and they have become very complex due to all of the flexibility everyone wanted in the standards.

RE: The MAX32666FTHR and My Introduction to Bluetooth

Nice intro to Maxim Bluetooth.
