We will send 5 winners a Drone Discovery Bundle Featuring a Pair of MKR 1300 Boards and a PSoC6 Pioneer Kit! Arduino Day Workshop: 27th of March at 11:00 AM CT (Chicago) or 4:00 PM GMT Join us for an Arduino Day workshop hosted by balearicdynamics who will introduce you to everything you need to know to build your own drone. He will discuss the evolution between his original drone project, The Nanodrone , to its present form, the NanoDrone II. You'll see how Arduino Nano 33 Sense Arduino Nano 33 Sense and Tensor Flow Lite is used for facial recognition on the original NanoDrone projects. Next, you'll see how this project evolved to NanoDrone II, a device that can be easily installed on a semi-autonomous UAV to cover large areas of terrain, as well as installed on a ground robotized device. The idea for the project is to make a relatively low-cost system to monitor plants and cultivation areas to detect the grown state as well as potential parasite and damaged plants contentimage_197103.jpg-156x213.jpg?sv=2016-05-31&sr=b&sig=8DhK8bBtbOaM4ggA2dWIL1veM4%2BOSiYylwDF6%2BsXfic%3D&se=2026-04-21T23%3A59%3A59Z&sp=r&_=PlO7cgpYPFq6+rTu6wFdFg== You'll learn the steps that went into the "making of" process, choosing the boards, as well as the technologies used. The technical part, software and implementation, will be focused on the Arduino MKR 1300 LoRaWAN Arduino MKR 1300 LoRaWAN with special emphasis on using two boards without the need of a dedicated gateway. A last part will introduce the PSoC 6 kit PSoC 6 kit as the ground control board used to connect to the cloud (AWS IoT Core). I have always had a special interest in electronics and communication. I had the chance to start working in the era of the first Personal Computers, just few years before their massive introduction, and very soon I started acquiring knowledge about hardware and software. I developed researches, patented hardware and software-integrated technologies, wrote technical articles on several technical papers in Italy and more. During the last decade I developed software and firmware for embedded devices, new products for Android, Mac and Linux. Before the Android massive diffusion, I had been developing software as Nokia developer focusing my experience on the Qt development platforms on desktops and Symbian devices. My approach to Electronics and circuit projects involving hardware and circuit creation is strongly oriented to microcontrollers, from small devices to the computer-like micro as the well-known ARM processors family. I definitely avoid two things: redundance (i.e. making projects more complex than can be done) and excess of complexity (i.e. a great solution should be simple and cheap, otherwise it is not a great solution). For this reasons I frequently rethink projects or create new ones in order to make products and prototypes market-affordable and as cheap as possible without compromising quality. Five years ago I moved to Ibiza (Balearic Islands, Spain) where I currently live and work. Jan's professional skill set focuses on process integration, development methodologies, and application life cycle, He has 20+ years of experience with ERP, CRM and E-Commerce systems, as delivery manager, technology lead, integration architect, project lead, analyst and developer. Jan has been active in the Chemicals, Public Transport, and Government sector, in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, South-Africa, Greece, Poland, Spain and Russia. Jan is Development & Integration manager for PepsiCo. Jan is moderator at JavaRanch.com. Industrial and automotive electronics, microcontroller designs for functional safety, and maintainable software management. 30 years active in chemicals, pharmacy, rail, automotive and Food& Beverages
