Show Off Your Build

I'd love to see Ben create a board to drive various LCDs from a DVI/HDMI port.  Till Harbaum already demonstrated what I'm looking for with his DVI2PAR page <http://www.harbaum.org/till/dvi2par/index.shtml>.  Till's project (and others have done similar things for VGA out) shows how this could be useful for the many hobbyist boards that are becoming popular (BeagleBoard, Raspberry Pi, etc).  I even have a specific, cheap LCD in mind from geeks.com <http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=LQ038J7DH52-PB&cat=MON>.  It's the old Tapwave Zodiac 3.8" 480x320 16-bit color LCD & touch screen.  Personally, I'm looking to hook this up to my Raspberry Pi.  There's even a Manufacturer PDF here <http://beyondinfinite.com/lcd/Library/Sharp/LQ038J7DH52.pdf>.   I can even provide a donor screen (I just picked up 5 for various project ideas I have).

Hi Ben, I recently found your youtube chanel by accident, and I'm a big fan already. So I have this challenge for you. In my house I like to move from my room to the living room when nobody's home and play on the big screen. I have to use my tv tray, but my PS3 slim has hdmi, power, and AV input for my headset, and my headset has the AV left and right passthroughs plus usb and about 5 meters of wiring, plus the sony's about 2 meters on each cord, plus my extension cord for my other stuff. So, is there any possible way you can build a tv tray with power strip built in, wire room, and ps3 in a box with a disc slot, and have the sony removable? I was thinking of building a box with a slot in the front or side for the disc, maybe velvet lined so the disc won't scratch, an have the sony in a cubby hole so it doesn't move around. I also thought about wire storage for it. I know the basics of building all of this, but I don't have a CNC Router available, and I have no idea how to make the hinges on the tray for foldable legs. So if you can do this challenge that would be awesome of you.

Also as another challenge, is there any possible way you can make an AV left/right into a single 3.5mm audio jack cable? I just need an adapter and I have no idea how to convert one to the other.

And my third and last challenge, for now, an AV and HDMI Hub. I have a ps3, a tv box, probably going to go get an xbox to play exclusives, and another ps3 for homebrew, but my tv only has 2 hdmi and one AV l/r and one AV that is used by my Wii. So I'll probably needing atleast a few AV l/r plus HDMI imputs. And also I would like to see an AV hub, for all the classic systems that use AV.

WOW.... I'M AMAZED WITH ALL YOUR BUILDS!! I just this site, You guys how ever just blow my mind with awesome xbox360s. I know how and program BUT COULD NEVER DO SOMETHING EVEN HALF AS AWESOME AS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      So if it's not much truble could one of yous please help me?

hey i have a challenge how about you make a xbox that has a projector built in. good? or try and do it with a ps3.

ben i have a challenge for you you know those shot despenser that bars have well you need to make one with ir sencers that wen you put your glass by the spout it despences your alchohol for you that would be just awesome. good job with the show i love it and happy modding

Hi Ben,

     I watch your show all the way from Brazil! I think it's great and congratulations! I study electrical engeneering, but so far it hasn't been so much practical as I would like, so just to see the amazing stuff you can do with consumer electronics, it gets my hopes up. Anyway, I have a few ideas that i think would be cool to build. Here they are in order of least to most complex, in my opinion:

a)A mini RC Helicopter! I know you can buy one pretty easily these days, but what's the fun in that?! Wirelessly controlled obviously.

b)A digitally controlled shower water temperature regulator! I was thinking it would be something you could easilly attach to the shower knobs so it would mechanically change the temperature based on digital input.

c)A automatic prototype board soldering machine! Maybe something similar to a 3D printer or CNC. I think this is the hardest one because, apart from it being something dangerous and difficult to control liquid metal, it requires precision and complex coding due to different types and shapes of boards.

A challenge i thought a long while ago, and remembered while watching the ps3/360/wii U build, a 2-up if you will.

add in a gaming PC and make it all work off the fewest components possible: such as only using one blu-ray drive for the disks and one power supply.

basically, i would like to see the most capable gaming rig with the fewest external wires, 1 power, 1 HDMI, that's it.

how about a proximity meter that tells different ID to different persons?

i have some ideas how it might work but need more help
shall i upload some ideas?

ben you should have a video where you build a Saltwater aquarium controller with arduino controlling...lights, power heads, etc... i would love to see this so i can build one for my aquaiuram!
