Former Member

I was wondering if there was a good way to be able to use a keyboard and mouse with my xbox 360 for FPS.  I know what your thinking, go back to the PC right?  I'm getting really tired of everytime a new game comes out about 2 years apart i have to go and spend more on a graphics card than I would on a brand new xbox... please help... thanks

Yea the XIM Is way overpriced for what it does when you can get it way cheaper.

You get what you pay for.  The XIM3 is the BEST solution out there for KB/M (and other peripherals) on X360.  Adding a keyboard and mouse to the X360 is a lot more complicated than just mapping direct inputs.  The information page explains all of this.  http://xim3.com/?page_id=182

I've tried other solutions, e.g., XFPS Sniper Pro, etc.  Garbage.  The XIM is WELL WORTH THE MONEY if you can afford to spend it.  I've been a user for 2 generations of the product and it's just phenomenal and only gets better.  Morever you will not find the level of support that you get from the XIM creator (OBsIV) and developers with any other company/product.  It's unreal how active they are on the forums, implementing features based on community feedback.  The XIM community itself is just unreal.

One solution to the PC upgrade problem is just spend around $3-4000 now and you wont have to upgrade for years and years...

As far as Xbox360 KB/M adapters, XIM3 is the way to go. It is pricey, almost as much as the Xbox360 itself at $150. But for the cost of around $200 for the Xbox360 and $150 for the XIM3 you've got the perfect gaming platform for any first person shooter. As Matthew above me I've tried a couple different KB/M adapters, nothing even compares to the XIM3 (I've owned an XFPS and SplitFish FragFX Shark 360). If I had to rate each one from 1 to 10 on overall PC-like feel (smooth movements with mouse) I'd give the XIM3 a 9, FragFX gets a 4, and XFPS gets a 1.

XIM3 only gets a 9 because the game is still limited to what a controller can do, so you cant spin around like a madman doing 1600 degree spins before you hit the ground and headshot the guy... but other than that its perfect. Its customizable to the way YOU want to play the game, so if you're like me and want insanely high sensitivity, or you like to move your entire arm about 4 feet to turn 90 degrees, you can set that up. Bind any key on the keyboard to any function on the 360 controller you please. Each game has its own customizable configuration, which compensates for the different mechanics.

FragFX is too sluggish, you can feel the mouse capping out the stick and having to keep dragging the mouse around to continue your turn sucks. The analog nunchuck is nice though.

XFPS is laughable, they dont even TRY to make a decent product. Like the FragFX they expect it to be "one size fits all" for every game, and it just doesn't work like that. Also if it stops working, expect to have to buy an entirely new one, like they expected me to do (which is why I bought the FragFX originally).
