This format is not for me, as I don't like watching videos for technical information. The info to time ratio is too small and it is mostly not searchable.

I chose projects. I like them because they introduce new ideas into my life. I like the creativity of the Community. As for some ideas... how about updating some previously made projects with components…

Like robogary I like projects for ideas and inspiration and learning new build techniques. The videos are great but I'll admit that many times I will only watch the segments that are of interest to me…

A bit off topic... I agree with wolfgangfriedrich that making the existing content more searchable would be awesome. Sounds like a great job for a Summer intern. Add more key words to... everything.

As for some ideas... how about updating some previously made projects with components that you can purchase today? For many people, even the old project will be new to them. As the Kellogg's Corn Flakes ad says, "Try them again, for the first time."

we quite often had a comment "why did you not use X" and the answer was "because X was released 2 years after this video was published". So indeed we could redo some projects/topics with todays parts and possibilities.

which doesn't really help if you are actually searching for Charlieplexing...

If it was longer, and bookmarked with linkable chapters, does that begin to address it? Or are there other factors?

I often think that a video with an accompanying blog can work, but there's definitely a trend of more content digestion leaning heavily on video.

More projects !

Seeing other projects inspires me to try new solutions.

Project folks use sensors, controllers, devices I have never heard of. I have to get these new components (to me) to solve new problems a new way.

50 years ago, the world had TTL books to sift thru for components to solve techical issues and inventions.

AI, internet, iot is helpful, but seeing actual projects as working examples is such a tremendous motivator, new ways to think about convenience building and trying out new techniques.

agreed. indexing the content with chapters and matching the file downloads to it + extended sections or written summaries could enhance the experience.
