We live in an analog world, but our computers and electronics need to translate signals into binary in order to process them. In order to interpret analog signals from various sensors and inputs, processors use ADCs to convert them to digital signals. Watch along as Karen explains in depth how ADCs work in various ways to convert analog signals into binary, digital signals.

Good job of explaining the basics of ADC.

I see the effect of low bit ADC on movies and TV shows.

My TV is 12 bit and I instantly see the 8 bit levels from low end TV cameras, especially in high contrast…

Hi there! I love your channel and it has really help me learn Electronics. I never really understood this topic but it makes sense now! Could you please make a video on LC Oscillators or tanks or about resonance? Thanks!

Sorry, I missed a lot of videos, especially those treating of AC current.

    Thank you Karen.

I actually buy blu-ray now because it makes a difference on my current TV, where it didn't on previous TVs.

My TV is 12 bit and I instantly see the 8 bit levels from low end TV cameras, especially in high contrast lighting. You definitely see image pixelation.

I look forward to seeing what you do with the Arduino ADC.
